Are your kids still in school? Mine are, and the requests are getting ridicules. Yesterday, I got the last minute request that my son needed a green shirt (don't have one), and my daughter needed a black one AND a white one for Field Day. Three shirts for two kids on one day. I ran to Kohl's and grabbed all three from the boy's department...they can use them as nightshirts, later.
Later that evening, I TRIED to prepare and label my kids water bottles for Field Day. Six water bottles later.....NOT ONE TOP that actually fit one of the bottom bottles we have. Where are the tops? I ran to Bed Bath & Beyond and picked up two new water bottles. When I returned home, I threw away ALL THE OTHER BOTTLE PARTS! There, I showed them..... By the way, Field Day was rained out.
Onto far more interesting things....my friend Rebecca, from Older and Wisor, is doing a week long series of gift wrapping with craft paper

I met Rebecca during the 31 day challenge. She did 31 days of gift wrapping. Seriously, you must check it out here.
And speaking of 31 days.....The Nester is recruiting reminding bloggers to start thinking about
It was the hardest....BEST thing I have ever done. I met so many new friends along the way. I'll be doing it again....will you join me?

I'm glad to hear my kids' school isn't the only crazy one. My son came home yesterday saying he needs marbles. For today. Riiiiggght. Because most 11-year olds have those lying around. Turns out we did, thankfully, or it would have meant a trip to the dollar store I didn't have time for.
I'm already thinking of a theme for the 31 days...it's a really good idea. Glad to hear you enjoyed it last year.
Figures that after all of that, Field Day was rained out! I busted out laughing when I read that, sorry, but it was just too familiar! Gotta go check out this 31 days business.....
Oh does that whole affair sound so familiar...that is why I think there should be Mother's Day once a month!!! :)
Classic. All that work, and then no field day. I guess the kids could run around the back yard when they get home instead. :) I've thought about the 31 days but can't think of a good topic. Hmmm. What did you do for yours?
That field trip mess sounds about right. We get odd requests with 1 day notice all of the time. It's frustrating. The 31 days of ? was such an amazing thing last year. I don't know if I am up for it. What are you going to do? I loved your series last time. Hmmm... I will have to build my courage up. :)
We have been rained out here too ... while you were searching for shirts ... I have been making fruit salads. I learned a while ago that when asked for food at different events, like teacher's luncheons, tennis banquets, baseball banquets. I make the same thing for each. When I was a novice I did something different for each. Not now baby!! ooh, can't wait to see your 31 day topic!
