Replating Brass
I believe that my blog email subscription issue has been fixed. If you are still not receiving it, you may have accidentally been unsubscribed by your provider. To correct this you will need to resubscribe by entering your email address....again. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
This Friday, I am heading to Boston for the weekend. My In-Laws are downsizing their living situation and would like me to select whatever pieces of furniture I would like to have for our home. Yes, we get along that well! In fact, my FIL and I love to have a glass of wine promptly at five o'clock. He just got an iPhone and at 85 he is able to text my daughter and FaceTime us.
One of the items they would like us to have is their brass and smoked glass dining room table. It is similar to this one.
The table is a bit tired and definitely has some wear on the finish. I thought that my lovely readers might know something about replating brass(?)
Have you ever had anything replated?
Summer Fever
Are you feeling it? This is the time of the year that is so hard because my kids won't be out of school for another six or seven weeks. I and dreaming of the day when school is over and the summer schedules have not begun.
Morning coffee on the patio with no agenda and no humidity (it's a short window of time).
Cute 'age appropriate' outfits. You know, when you are older than 25, but younger than retirement. I think Lilly Pulitzer fits that look.

And let's not forget summer cocktails. Do you have a favorite? My current favorite is a Sunrise.

Can you believe that this weekend is already Memorial Day? I hope my friend opens her pool soon.

Hello? & Real Estate Stalking
Well, I didn't plan on taking a week off, it just happened. The weather has been spectacular and I am now a power walker (4.5 miles/day)...that's a lot, for me. I installed this app on my phone, and enjoy tracking my progress. Honestly, the stress of everything was getting to me and this has really helped.
If you are getting this in your email, then welcome back and the blog delivery problem has been solved! When I mentioned that there was an email delivery problem, Kris sent me this link and I followed it, exactly. Thanks Kris!
Now let's get back to our mutual obsession for gorgeous real estate. My friends over at the Michael Lawler Group sent me some pictures from a new listing of theirs. Yeah, they know what we like to look at.
I'll just say it now, don't expect my next home to look like this one...I haven't won the lottery, yet. To see more of this home, go here.
Speaking of Florida real estate, we are headed down again next month to see if we can find a home. I am being super picky, so we may end up renting for a while.
And now, can I trouble you for a favor....please?....If you were having trouble receiving my blog by email and today it worked...would you please let me know. Thank you!
The Monday After ORC
I wanted to thank all of you for your kind comments from the One Room Challenge. It is truly a labor of love in every way. I don't like to talk about many of the things I do behind the scenes to help make this a success, but I will share with you that it takes my undivided attention for the entire six weeks, and while I'm working on the current ORC I am also constantly thinking about the next one. That is why I only post a couple of times a week during the ORC.
The One Room Challenge is also a Registered Trademark. I will do a more in depth post on that hopefully soon. What you should know is that the only way you can protect your idea legally, is to Trademark it. If you read Blog Inc., then you already know that you should be trademarking your blog title. Good ideas are stolen all the time on the internet and Trademarking is not cheap. Only you can decide for yourself if you want to make that financial investment.
Now I would love to hear from you. Do you use the ORC for resources and ideas? Have you ever implemented any of the design ideas shared by all of the former participants in your own home? Is there anything in particular that you would like to read about? You can leave a comment or email me directly.
Finally, I have received quite a few emails from readers saying that you no longer receive my blog via email. Sherry also mentioned this in a recent post of hers. It seems as though it is a problem larger than all of us, it's all Google's fault and I will try to get someone to assist me with this.
And now I'm off to check out more of the 77 Linking Participants. So much talent gathered in one place.
One Room Challenge Linking Event, Round 2...Week 6
I am so excited that today is finally here. Just six short weeks ago 84 people jumped into the One Room Challenge Linking Event and have been working nonstop ever since. We have all followed along while giving support and advice to anyone crazy brave enough to attempt the #OneRoomChallenge.
If you have always wanted to try this, or would love to do it again...mark your calendars and start planning.
Thanks again for linking up. I know we have all made a lot of new friends. Please remember to put a link back so that your readers can see these rooms, too.
It will probably take me all weekend to visit these amazing rooms, but I can't think of a better way to find real life inspiration.
One Room Challenge, Week 6
Hello, and welcome to the final post of the Spring - One Room Challenge. To say that six weeks flew by would be a huge understatement. If you would like to start at the beginning, go here.
It would have been impossible for me to stay on track and motivated without all of you checking in on my progress week after week. Thank you for your visits, comments, and overall love of the One Room Challenge. One day, I will tell you all about how crazy it is behind the scenes....really crazy. Over the last six weeks, I transformed my mudroom into a pretty and functional space.
Let's remember how it started.
Leslie did an amazing job converting the Dash and Albert rug into a custom lumbar pillow.
I adore this garden stool from Lamps Plus. As soon as the weather stays consistently warm, I may move this outside for the summer.
The show stopping element of the room is definitely the display of blue and white porcelain prints form The Pink Pagoda. I know my photography does not do them justice.
