Spring Into Action!
Hello, and welcome to Spring Into Action!
Lately, I have been a huge procrastinator on many of my DIY projects. First, the weather was too nice...don't want to be inside. Then, the weather was too cold...don't want to work outside. So, a group of us decided to tackle our most annoying DIY projects with the best motivator possible....PEER PRESSURE!
Sadly, it works every time for me. Here is my story....a while back, we installed french drains and a sump pump into our basement. Since then, I have shown you how I installed faux crown molding in the basement. I have also shown you my magnetic chalkboard wall....in the basement. Here is the wall I have left out
Before the construction, I had a full wall of home-made shelves. However, since we put in a sump pump, we now have a closet (that is only large enough for the sp) on the right...the old shelves won't fit.
I need my shelves back..what's a girl with power tools to do? My plan
I need to take apart the old shelves and chop, glue and nail them into the correct size. I also need to install a dehumidifier with a drain into the sump pump so
Now let's go see what my peer's who are pressuring me are going to tackle;

Dallas/Fort Worth I am Thinking of You!!
My heart goes out to all the tornado victims and their families in the Dallas/Fort Worth area
There are a lot of bloggers from around that area. I hope everyone is OK. I am worried about one particular friend of mine.....looking forward to hearing from her!

Cocktails with Chinoiserie Chic!
Warning, this entire post is a fantasy in my head!
I have been a reader of Chinoiserie Chic for years...no joke. In fact, it was one of the first blogs I stumbled upon before I had a full-blown blog hopping addiction. I love all the inspirational images she posts.

Last year on April 1, Beth said "goodbye" to all of us. You can read about it here. This April 1, Beth was apparently quite smitten with the new Restoration Hardware furniture line. You can read about that here. Both times....I totally fell for it! In fact, it is the funniest straight-faced writing I have read in a long time.
Probably in the form of a Zen Martini...it is also made with Green Tea Liqueur
...and caviar
I know this does not look like a lot of food, but it was on the menu for her party. I'll arrange the hors d'oeuvres on this
Overkill on the Greek Key?...maybe so. How about this one?
I am hoping that after one, maybe two drinks, she will tell me what she was really thinking when she wrote this response. Sounds like a fun evening, right? Her dog, Izzy, is welcome to come, too.

I have come to realize that she is funny..although you are not quite sure if she is serious...my favorite kind! So, my fantasy is to have cocktails with her. Now the pressure....everything must be perfect! I will serve this Yazi ginger vodka.

Is that Chinoiserie enough? I'll serve the drinks in these glasses
No, that's not fancy enough...how about these
I guess it needs to be an actual martini glass, this should do
Oh, the pressure. For appetizers, I'll have oysters on the half shell

Should I Read It?
There is a lot of talk about this book
The reviews from a few friends are so mixed....I'll ask you....have you read it?
Bedroom Frustrations!
My master bedroom is in desperate need of make-over. I have pinned, stalked and scoured...I'm lost. I would say the problem is narrowing the project down to a color palate. I like too many, and can't commit. This time, I went across the pond and found images at House to Home.
If you were starting from almost scratch...what would you pick for you bedroom?
Friday's...in The Garden...New Plants & TTD
Hi Everyone...It was a cold gardening week!
Just like that, our weather decided to go back to the usual March weather (50's). I am a wimp with cold weather, so I went plant shopping. I found a lavender for my area. I have been dreaming of lavender for a long time.
The back of the card says 6...and that's my zone. So, I brought home 5 of them
If all goes well, it should look like this.
As for the the rest of my garden...my creamy daffodils are looking so lovely
I love their little peachy centers
This is also a good time to take inventory and make a "Things To Do" list. For me, my Pieris plants are getting smothered by the tall Green Giant Arborvitaes
I also don't like one pink blooming one next to the white blooming one. I prefer several of the same color grouped together. In the next couple of weeks, I will be transplanting them
This is a good example of when to transplant a perennial. Early bloomers, like this one, will do much better if they are moved after the bloom...or early fall. Since they look so similar without their blooms, I will mark them now, so I know which one is pink and which one is white.
What is blooming in your garden?
