I Need to Start Over & A Winner

Does this ever happen to you? Rhetorical questions, I know....of course it does that's why we like each other!
You are just going about your nosy business of clicking around the blogisphere....and then BAM! Just like that, you are smacked in the face ....kinda like how Cher smacked Nicholas Cage in the movie Moonstuck.
You see an image
What....what .....what is that?  You think.....I must investigate further because I am in love. Not the school-girl kind of "I think he is cute and I hope he walks by my locker today" love.
The "I think we could grow old together" love.
So you start clicking....feverishly....where is it....how do I find out more?
That is exactly what happened to me when I saw this room on VT Interiors. Her post was titled "Just Perfect".
I am seriously in love with the raw natural wood on this round table, btw. I need to investigate that further (won't buy the RH one).
There was also this image on her blog
That was it, off I went to investigate more on this home....here ya go.

And just like that cute boy, the behind is as nice to look at as the front :).

So after seeing all of this, it makes me feel like.......I need to start over with all of my decorating.
I can't have this conversation with my everyday friends, because they would be like...huh?
And then they would say, "did you get the email about the Fundraising Bake Sale?"
And I would be like...huh?
And then I would have to say, "I don't bake for Fundraising Bake Sales".
I like to bake, btw.....but Fundraising Bake Sales are for raising funds! I go to the bakery that makes the most amazing chocolate chocolate-chip cookies and donate about 3 dozen. Of course I take them out of the packaging and put them on a lovely plate, first.....and guess what, they always sell out. You're welcome school club that wanted to raise funds.
And if this horrifies you, my neighbor taught me this trick.
Now for the winner of my DIY Giveaway.....
Congratulations Pam @ Simple Details! I know you will put all of this to good use.
Happy Monday!

first of all, the house is gorge. Just move in.

Second, that is genius about the bake sale. GENIUS! I completely plan to do this trick once I'm roped into the world of school and fundraisers!

I agree. When I saw that house and interior I about died. It is absolutely perfect. And the back view of that house, oh my, amazing. Will that architecture look good in Florida???
Your home is beautiful though, don't beat yourself up!

That table would be easy for you to replicate. Find a table you like on CL & bleach it! I bleached some chairs & waxed them & walla! Here they are;

Yay!!! Thank you, Linda! Yes, I'll use every bit of it, and fill everyone in along the way! :)

As for feeling the need to start over, it occurs daily when I open Pinterest!

Fabulous house and I love that kitchen table too. I've been looking for the same thing (also non-RH) for our new kitchen for under $1000 with no success. The closest I've found is one at Z Gallerie but shipping is $310! Let me know if you find one!

Beautiful home! I feel like I need to start over with my decorating a lot. Maybe that's why I move so much.

Love the cookie idea! I used to bake for that stuff, but I don't bake for other people anymore since we got a dog. No matter how much we clean there's always hair around. Gross.

Maybe this house will call you up! Too funny. And, yes, to the bake sale trick. When I was working and had child in school and no time, I'd frost a Sara Lee pound cake with chocolate ganache and call it it DONE!

That home is GORGEOUS!!! But yours is every bit as beautiful!! I know how you feel... I totally have design ADD.

Congratulations Pam! And as for this house Linda? It is absolutely gorgeous, I can see why you 'fell' for it! There's nothing NOT to love! But before you go and change your style all together make sure you've seen equally fantastic homes in all sorts of style and then decide! :-)

Seriously lol at "I can't have this conversation with my every day friends". Right?! They DO think we're nuts and they just don't get us.

Yes, of course this happens to me and it both excites me and scares the crap out of me. So exciting to see something that you LOVE and makes you rethink everything, but terrifying to think that your very happiness may now depend on spending a lot of money to change things.

I've actually considered going cold turkey and not looking at anything designer-ish once I finish decorating my new place. Haha...yeah right.

P.S. this is one gorgeous home you've found...you two could be very happy together :)

Congrats to the winner and that's a very beautiful home! I am so grateful for my virtual peeps, because they "get" my obsessions, etc.

You are hysterical. love this post. I know you can find a table like that on CL and then just strip it. Thanks for the tip about school bake sales. The first one I contributed to I spent hours and lots of money working on them, decorating them and then packaging in cute little bags with tags and ribbons. i thought I was really going to be bringing in a little extra money with my effort. Imagine my horror when I saw that everything was priced the same .50

Your house is gorgeous and you don't need to start over. Wait a day or two--your whim will change :)

Kim said...

well, you have said it all! I have want to change daily ... and you are right there are so many who just look at me as if I have stated something terribly absurd!! xo

Oh my goodness! I live 5 minutes from this house and I frequently go out of my way to drive past it! I've never seen the inside, but I knew it would be gorgeous. The exterior look even better in person if you can believe it. It takes my breath away it's so fabulous.

Andrea said...

By the way, thanks so much for posting this beauty!

Just remember, once you move to Florida, you DO get to start decorating all over. : )

At first, I actually thought this post WAS about your future Florida home, and that was a picture of a real-estate listing! Wouldn't it be lovely if we could all afford to live in houses like that? Swoon.
