There are isles and isles of fabric like this
There is definitely more clothing fabric vs. home fabrics.
The trims are neatly organized, and there is an abundance.
When you get to the home fabrics section, there are a few displays that feature some of the fabric.
I love that it is orange, and not red
And I love the metallic thread
I have been feeling the blue and white, lately...although this is cream
I like it both directions
And there is a raised trim detail on it for texture
My plans for the fabric is top secret....so secret, I'm not exactly sure yet.
So far, I took you along to the NY Flea Market, Mood Fabrics....but there was one more stop, and tomorrow I'll tell you where that was.

Uahu your plan is top secret. I like the fábrica blue!!!!!
holy love - i need to go - i go goo-goo @ places like these! - i've been to the fabric district before but never to mood - SCORE on ur finds!!!!
You secret agent you. Glad to know I'm not the only one who has big plans for fabric that I just don't know about yet :) Love your pics. When you left did you say 'thank you Mood' in your best Tim Gunn voice?
That looked fun. When I am in a fabric store I am happier than a pig in _____ .
What a fun little jaunt! Oh how I miss having access to such places, the best we can do here in Madison is JoAnn's :( Love the fabric for your secret project....
Oh my - I'd be in heaven! Love your choices!
Love your fabric choices. Thank you Mood! We'll be in the area next week, hopefully I'll have time to stop by.
Love those you photographed. What a historical place it has become!
OMG, you went to Mood? So jealous! I think I'd need a whole week in that place but thanks for the virtual journey. Yep, like you I never made the project Runway switch to Lifetime. Lifetime just reminds of sappy women as victims television and I can't watch it. Wish they'd move back to Bravo, which is quite possibly my favorite network - next to HGTV and Food Network of course. P.S. Thanks for the side bar love lady. Truly honored.
Fun trip! Thanks for taking us along!
Those fabrics are out of this world.....very, very curious to see what you do!
I love it, and that grey/white peacock print you picked up is out of this world! I wish I had discovered that ikat before with the raised green elements...hmmm, maybe my laundry room? Loved your tour, wish I could go there myself! It's quite a shift to only be able to see 2" pieces on a computer screen when the touch and feel is so much grander. lucky you!

Sounds like a fun day - we all need our NYC time to wake us suburbanites up a little. I am off to the Holiday House tomorrow for a little NYC "me" time! I can't wait to hear how you use the fabric - and I am hoping tomorrow's surprise is a restaurant recommendation...Enjoy your day!
Fun field trip Linda! I am such a fabric hound...this was a treat! What else do you have up your sleeve?
I love Project Runway! Although, I hate having to watch all the sappy Lifetime movie commercials, so I usually just record it so I can fast-forward through that nonsense. Anyway, I'd LOVE to go to Mood! I love the fabrics you picked too. I want both even though I'm not sure where I'd use them! As Tim Gunn would say: Make it work!
How fun! I love exploring fabric shops and this one looks great!
hahaha! Funny, I do that to, buy something I love and think about what to do with it later! I am one of those people who have watched the show before and I always wondered about the place. Thanks for the tour, I would love to go there someday. :-)
I did watch Project Runway on Bravo too. Not anymore though. I love your fabric choices, I can't wait to see what you do with them! A chair? Those pillows are lovely. You can never have enough pillows, right?
Looks like a fun adventure you went on.....I would have gone with you ;)
Hmmm, what will you do with your fabrics?!?!
the gray peacock is lovely! Can't wait to see where you went next :-)
Gracious! I would be very poor if I lived anywhere near there!
I love Project Runway, but can't say it without Heidi Klum's accent - Pwoject Wunway. ;)
This looks so interesting! I don't know how you aren't in the city constantly. Still so jealous that you're so close!
So cool Linda! I am a bit of a fabric junky, I used to work for a fabric company and I have tubs & tubs of fabrics. That is a dream day, looks like you had fun!
Linda....how fun! I'm a fabric-aholic. Its a passion of mine...I should of gone in to designing fabric. I would go crazy in this store....
Gee, I wish we had fabric houses like that here! I am LOVING your fabric choices!
Love the fabrics! And I love posts like this and your flea market one where I can go along with you on your design adventures!
I can't wait to see what you do with your fabric! I've never been to Mood but some day I'd like to go just because of it's sheer size compared to the other fabric stores. I feel like the prices would be a bit high compared to others but it seems like it would be nice to check out. Thanks for the sneak peek!
I have to admit I still watch PR. I don't have cable and they stream it online. :)
So glad you paid us a visit! Let us know when you're going to do the big reveal...
