After 10.5 days without power, our home was restored late last night. Because of that high efficiency heating system I spoke of....it was back to normal temperatures in about an hour.
There are thousands still without power, so I will be taking food to my local food bank today. If you would like to do something, no matter where you live, donating food to those who need it will always put a smile on your face.

Sweet pea! I am so sorry for all that has been going on! I was worried about you. I am glad to hear that you are ok but I know others are still suffering. I have missed you and look forward to having you back!
Glad you are FINALLY back up and running. 10 1/2 days is a marathon and I hope that others who still do not have electricity get it back soon. Any insight on the best way to help?
Yay! I know that must have been a real test of everyone's patience. Hope you are loving a toasty warm house today.
Thank God. I have donated water, coats and essentials so far, but still feel inept, especially in the wake of another Nor'easter. Im so glad youre back, you have been missed! Hope your life normalizes soon.

WAHOO! Sooo glad that is over for all of you and you can work on getting back to normal. Power just in time to get toasty for the snow storm. Hang in there and I'm glad you are all OK!
I couldn't have been happier seeing that post title pop up on my blogroll this morning! So glad things are slooowly improving for you.
Yay! Let there be light! Stay warm lady.
OH my goodness :( 10.5 days!!!!!! Thank god you are with Light now!!
I'm so happy for you! It's been so cold lately and I feel really awful for all those still without power with snow on the ground.
So glad to hear this, Linda! Take care, and have a great weekend ~ Loi
wao Linda!! that is so long! So glad you are back to normal...you are a survivor. I keep of all those without power...
Hi Linda, I am so glad you and your family are ok. I have been thinking of you but things have been crazy here too. We finally got power back Sunday night. Your neighborhood, wow, I am so sorry for all who have lost their homes. We have several friends who lost their homes in Long Beach, LI. I feel so lucky that we made out ok. Enjoy your heat:)!!!! Jen
So glad to hear you're ok. Been thinking about you!
Thank goodness! So glad you have power back! My heart is breaking for all those whose power came back only to lose it again with this Nor'easter. Ugh. Hope your life (and theirs!) gets back to normal soon.
Linda, so happy to hear that! Hope you guys are staying warm tonight :)
I'm so glad to hear you have power! And that you're warm! Hopefully others will follow soon :) -Elisa
Geez, your place looks like ours. I was too shell shocked to even take photos -- there was just too much destruction. People on the South Shore of LI just lost everything and we all know someone who was displaced. We are on the North Shore so we lost a lot of trees, with some flooding, but not like on the South Shore. Crazy.
Glad you made it through ok. We were out of power from Monday 10/27 until Thursday, 11/7. I broke down and bought a generator on 11/6 and waited in line 3 hours to get gas. Lights came on the next day : ) Murphys law (and I am glad for it). I discovered that I will never be a camper! Have a good weekend. xo Amal
Oh my! I am happy to hear you are getting back on track and my heart goes out to all others who are still without power or adequate supplies!
New fan and follower here. Keep us updated, love.

Congrats on power! Hope all in NJ and NY get back to normal life as soon as possible!
Linda, I am so sorry you have been through so much. Glad you have heat...I feel so inept to help during a crisis like this. I am sending prayers and what I can to help.

Isn't it amazing how we depend on electricity! I am so happy you finally got yours back - ours was out for eight days, but we ended up going to a hotel because we didn't have running water, either. Enjoy your warm home this weekend!
Thank Goodness! Glad things are looking up! I donated to our local boy scouts food drive this week, it makes me happy every time I do it!
I'm so glad to hear things are getting back to normal for you!
I am relieved and glad for you Linda. I hope that the "gas shortage" is not so bad where you are. Praying for everyone else still. :-)
I am glad to know that power has been restored! What a relief! Take care, my friend!
