Fourteen years ago, we lived here, Richmond upon Thames.
Everyday, I would walk all around London. I did not have a car for this half of our experience. Quite often, I would hop on the Underground
It all seems so funny now, but at the time this was my everyday life. The streets I walked looked like this
A woman I met, another American living abroad, introduced me to a beautiful line of unique fragrances (remember this was 1997). They eventually found their way to the states
I shopped for groceries (every 3 days) here
If I was looking for somthing amazing, I would go here
Downstairs is famous for its display of culinary cuisine from around the world
Our daughter was born here
At the Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor England (by this time, we moved to the burbs). After we returned to the US, our son was born. She is an American Citizen who cannot be President of the United States....and we are not sad about that one bit!
Recently, my husband was asked if we would consider going back....that's it....no major meetings, just something to ponder with "the family". Well, MY BAGS WERE PACKED!! I found schools for the kids, inquired with a close friend about the home rental market in our town, I even thought of a name for my new blog......can you see where this is going? We are not going. Due to "I have no idea what happened", we are staying here.
So, I'm going to continue on with my home goals and see if my friend Lisa would consider giving me her blog title. Do you like change? Does the thought of moving excite or scare you?

Oh how fun. I have relatives in England. Love it there. I lived in Sicily for 2 yrs a lifetime ago. Sometimes I really miss it, especially the food. I can't eat American "italian" food anymore. It just doesn't compare.
Oh how I miss London too...lived there 27 years ago...but have been back many several times since...now that you are not going those Home Goals are waiting around the bend! :)
I just moved last year, so I'm not in any hurry to do it again but London is intriguing. I have cousins there and one of them was the mayor of Windsor! So I am familiar with many of your old haunts.I haven't been since '89.
Did you love living in London? I would love to know your feelings about it. I am in LOVE with London!! I tease my husband that I want to retire there someday but I love the states so much I think it would be hard to be so far away. Moving to a new place is always fun if it's a good city!
Oh it sounds like living there was such an adventure! I think moves are exciting.
There's still time for a new adventure. I have always lived in New York City. My best friend lives upstate. I would love living up there with her, but she got flooded at the end of last year. Not quite ready for that kind of drama yet.
oh how sad. your short-lived dreams were absolutely crushed!
I love adventure, so I am always looking forward to the next thing. It doesn't even have to be a big deal, and it doesn't have to be better than our situation now (although I would prefer that).
I can't wait until Kyle and I venture out beyond the southwestern US (or even the country for that matter).
Love how you want to take your friend's blog title trapped in north jersey, lol! You can always use "stuck in north jersey" (the blogspot is not taken, I checked!)

I think change its exciting, although at the moment I feel happy growing roots right where I am! :) I love the photos, I've only been in London once but I felt like I could live there. :) I miss Amsterdam (where I grew up) a lot at times. My hubby (who is from England) says he doesn't want to live in England...I am hoping that he might change his mind someday! :)
Yes! I loved it. If you ever get the chance, go! Everything, Paris, Italy, etc...is only an hour (more or less) plane ride away.
Wow, sounds like a wonderful experience. At least one that you had once, if not for a second time.
I find that I like change less and less as I get older. I think through all the change I experienced in the past has led me to where I am now. Perfectly content...and I don't want that to change!
Oh I feel for you!! We almost lived in London for a year while my husband was doing some international business, but it too fell through. I was so excited ... but no! I'll have to be happy that I have had the opportunity to visit and do hope to go again!
