One Room Challenge™ Guest Participation
I have been trying to stay off this site while the tech-ies send me emails, confuse the heck out of me, and make random, experimental, changes. Some of you have sent me emails with alerts about nonfunctioning issues and I can't thank you enough! You always come through for me. I promise, by the time the One Room Challenge is over, this site will be complete.
And now, Let's talk about ORC Guest Participation!
Note to self; renovating your site before the One Room Challenge™... is a really bad idea.

You have six Thursday posts to complete your room transformation. If you want to be precise, it is actually five weeks......unless you have already started....and that's OK! Each Thursday, after you have published your room transformation update, come to this site and link up your progress (a direct link to your post is best).
Many readers and stalkers will visit you on a day other than Thursday. By placing the One room Challenge logo on your site, and linking it to your room, you will be able to help guide the traffic to your One Room Challenge™ project.
The Rules:
1. Only link up rooms dedicated to the One Room Challenge.
2. Your post should include information about your space and a link back to my page so the readers can easily navigate through the other rooms.
3. Please be respectful of this interior design event and only have links that relate to your One Room Challenge space.
Just in case you are still feeling a little overwhelmed, here is the posting schedule with sample topics you can use as a guide:
Thursdays, April 7th (week 1) - Introduce your space, and tell us your plan.
Thursday, April 14th (week 2) - Show us your progress. What have you accomplished?
Thursday, April 21st (week 3) - Have you encountered any setbacks? Any happy accidents?
Thursday, April 28th (week 4) - How's it going? Week 4 is the hardest!
Thursday, May 5th (week 5) - Did you revise your plan? Hang in there, you can do it.
Thursday, May 12th (week 6) - The Finale - It's all about the pictures.
And just like that, you have a finished, or almost finished, or at least more than half way, or at least started.......room transformation!
We are all here to support one another. This will never be a competition. Jump in, and have fun.
I hope to see you on Thursday, April 7th!

My long absence has been filled with One Room Challenge™ work and other opportunities that I can't wait to share. And now......

Hello? Happy New Year?
Testing 1..2..3...ahem, I'm feeling a bit rusty at this. Happy 2016, my friends!
For 2016, I won't pretend to make promises that I won't keep, resolutions that would never last, or predictions that would only be a guess. Instead, I'm going to declare that I have no idea what this year will bring. Here's what I know for sure -

2015 was a great year for the One Room Challenge™.
House Beautiful credited this shot

What's even more shocking is that this image did not go up until November, so it had a short amount of time to gain all those likes. You can read about the top 15 images for

Well I made it through my first post of 2016! Thanks for hanging in with me and keeping up with all my shenanigans (had to use spell check for that one).
I'm going to beak my non-resolution/prediction, and say that my new site will be the largest website transformation I have ever procrastinated and agonized over. I'm not sure when it will be done, but I do know that it will be finished long before my

Zen Cyber Monday
Ahh, my favorite internet shopping day! I have been holding things in my shopping baskets waiting for today. By the time you read this, I will have made several purchases.
In Naples, the Nordstrom store is very small and selective. I usually purchase online and then return the few items that don't work. Although, most things are just fine :). I happen to notice that there was an additional 25% off on my favorite readers. At my age, you can never have enough readers lying around.

I'm calling today Zen Cyber Monday because I am finally buying a Fitbit. Do you already have one? My daughter wanted the full size one, but I want the thin one....in part, because of the adorable Tory Burch covers. And speaking of Ms. Burch, did you see that she has a Pro Shop with sporting accessories?

In no specific order, my favorite Cyber stuff. You know it's a special day when Starbucks has a Cyber Sale. I think it is one of the safest gifts you can give someone. Although, this press is probably for me. And I will be stocking up on my favorite moisturizer during this special sale. I love this one because of the SPF 30. Big beautiful books are always a winner. This cocktail shaker would be fun to give. And finally, I would love to start playing backgammon again. I miss playing board games.
Did you stumble upon any great sales? Do share!
Happy Thanksgiving Week
Well hello! I know we have so much to get caught up on. My home is still sllllooooooowly coming along. A crazy thing happened during our renovations, I had some sort of life-altering reality check.

My daughter is a senior in high school and my son is a freshman at the same school. She is working her way through the college application process (it makes the ORC look like playtime in the sandbox) and he doesn't want to hang out with mom. And then it hit me, how do I want to spend my time when I am not catering to their every demand and assisting them through their teen years?
What was my passion?....other than design, the One Room Challenge™, and this site :).
So I decided to get a degree in real estate stalking. Yup! The state of Florida has deemed me qualified to sell real estate. During the last two months I have been working on the One Room Challenge™, coordinating electricians, painters, and everyone else who wanted a piece of this home project, working a day job (did I mention that I had a day job? We really do need to get caught up), and going to real estate school on the weekends. Whew!
I'll tell you all about my plans in a future post, but for now, let the shopping begin. I'm also working on renovating this site. It is long overdue for a fresh new look.

My sincerest wishes to you and your family for a healthy and happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful for all of you checking in on me with your comments and emails. I will be spending the remainder of this week going through all of the One Room Challenge™ Guest Participants. I have been reading each and every post. Come by over the long weekend, and take a look. One of them has already been featured in House Beautiful!
Oh, and if you can, please consider dropping something off to your local food bank.
