Ghosts & UFO's in Naples
Sometimes life hands you a gift in the shape of a ghost. I started laughing out loud when I heard this on the National news....yup, it made it to NJ. The clip of "Ghost & UFO" sightings is rich with possibilities.
First, I would like to tell all the Naples Residents that this is true and UFO's, Aliens and Ghosts... are all coming to Naples. If I were you, I would sell your home immediately! Flood the market with home sales, of course prices will drop drastically. See, Economics Professor, I was paying attention in that boring 'supply & demand' section of your course.
And now for the part that makes me really giddy.....why?... Because I am always apologizing for my grammatical sentence structure.
Well that day is over....O-V-E-R! Because, around the 1:30 minute mark on this video you will hear "Rick" say "and when they sawl it".....did you catch that SAWL!?!
Don't worry, Rick, I'm sure that slipped through the ears of most viewers.

Seriously, if any of this is remotely true I will have blog posts for a decade.
Finally, I learned how to size a video on YouTube and put the larger version on my blog....all because I decided to watch the news. It's going to be a good week, I can tell.
Now come over and visit me on Kerry's blog, Design du Monde.
Kerry's doing custom work for me....it's a fantasy of mine. She might startusing hiring child labor interns.

Let the Bleaching Begin
I thought I would put this out there to pressure myself into finishing this project. I am attempting to bleach some wood this weekend. Actually, I have already started but it's only in the stripping stage. I want it bleached....NOT limed. I love both looks, but it is the bleaching that I am after, like this

White Bricks & Links
| One of my new favorite exteriors (I know it's not new, but new to me is new...to me) is white painted bricks. Someone can do a grammar check to see if any of that sentence is remotely correct, I'm busy and people don't read they only look at the pictures (fact). It may be because I probably won't be finding a home like this or this in Florida. Those posts led to an argument with my dad over property and lot size.....the argument was crazy (aren't all parent/adult child arguments crazy?), but It was nice to hang up (literally) and know that he reads my blog! I would love to find a brick home, but it will probably be stucco (Florida) and paint it white! |

What do you think? Be honest....weren't you shocked to hear that my dad reads my blog? Hi Marty!
Here are a couple of fun links for your weekend reading.
If you have ever wondered how to get noticed, you may not want to try this marketing idea, but it worked.
If you are eagerly awaiting Downton Abbey, Simply June has some pictures from Season 4.
Be nice, don't fight.

Stacey is Here
Stacey is here today....you probably already know her, but if you don't....another fabulous blog to follow, Friends. I met Stacey probably about a year ago? I have been really honest with her when she asks 'our' opinion on things. Thankfully, she still visits my blog.
I remember when she was asking everyone how they felt about using a strong accent color in a space. I think I told her not to do it....or, it was way too 'in your face' color for me.
Well, look how fantastic her accent color combinations turned out. I was definitely apologizing over this one. You can see all of this kitchen transformation here.
If Stacey's brave color choices were not enough to get me to visit....then seeing adorable babies and toddlers are! I love to look at yummy little sweet faces. What can I say, my kids are older and my eggs are cooked.
Hi everyone! I’m Stacey from the blog, Design Addict Mom and that’s Baby Ian above(well he’s not that little anymore). I am thrilled to be participating in Linda’s Summer series. Linda is so creative and undoubtedly a DIY Master, but I love how she always chooses to showcase other bloggers and their talents. Way to go Linda!
O.k., Baby Ian’s nursery has been evolving over time. Most of the items in his room are either thrifted or hand me downs from his brother(now 4 years old).

His dresser is a hand me down from his brother that I purchased from Land of Nod. One morning while sipping coffee and rummaging through a drawer, I happened to see the roll of duct tape and somehow, right there and then, this very inexpensive idea was born!
I love the chevron pattern of the tape and that the colors coordinate with the existing pieces and art already in the nursery. For. e.g., the orange matches the thrifted orange chair and ottoman(pictured in the background of the first pic), and the green picks up the Pantone like green of Baby Ian’s diy bookcase that I completed a while back.
For this project, I removed all the knobs from the dresser and cut square and skinny rectangular strips. The square strips were for the front of the knobs and the skinny rectangular strips were for the edges to give the knobs a finished look. I also realized early on that using scissors to cut the tape was not a great idea. It kept sticking to the scissors so I used my fingers instead. If you are type A and must have very straight edges, I am thinking using an x acto knife to cut the tape would work beautifully.
a close up of the after.
not too shabby, right?
This is the easiest diy ever! You can complete it while watching your favorite show
. Oh and the duct tape was purchased from AC Moore, but I’m sure you can get duct tape at other craft stores, hardware stores, etc.
Thank you so much for having me Linda! Blessings and a wonderful day to everyone! XX
So glad that all of you had a glimpse into Stacy's talent. Go over and say 'Hi', she's great!

Real Estate Eye Candy
I think I may be starting a series.....or not. Last Monday, I was showing you a home that made me want to start over. As expected, that was good until the next one came along.
Just like a bad Jennifer Aniston movie (sorry Jen, but other than you...why would anyone go?) there will always be others.
I think I fell hard with the Chippendale detailing on the gates. That double brick drive with the grass insert leading to the front door is making me want to explore the home further.
I have always loved long stairways that wrap around a foyer....the thought of climbing those stairs is not as appealing.
Abundant white trim and millwork.
I love the drapery panels on the right and the roman shade on the left.

It's cool and crisp today.....isn't it August? Looks like Mother Nature is still mad at me.
I'm off to do laundry and spray painting. What are you up to?
Television Addicts, Unite!
I have never been shy or made excuses about my addiction to television. I love binge watching television. I could start a blog on the Bravo shows, alone. In fact, I do many of my projects with the television on as background entertainment. If I'm working in the garage, I usually take the iPad out there.
I know this is a contradiction to my addiction, but I don't like the way a television looks in a room....yes...crazy! I think these are really creative and attractive solutions for incorporating a television into the decor.
Do you hide it or flaunt it?
