Do You Want To Be On My Blog?

It's Summer, so let's have some FUN!

via
You are the best blog readers...and I know it.
You help and encourage me, endlessly. Whenever I ask you for a creative solution....you have twenty.

Together, we obsess over the smallest of details and share the best information.

I would love to showcase your creativity and wisdom with everyone.

So, I'm going to try something new.

I am opening my blog up to you.

If you would like to write an original guest post for my blog...let's talk.

Calling it Home is about all things Home & Garden. Your post would need to fit into that category. Other than that, I'm totally open. Pitch me your idea via email.

After I see what kind of response I receive, I'll set a schedule. If you don't have a blog, send me pictures of a project along with a description.

I think this could be a fun way to meet each other.

What do you think?

I have the right to alter your post if necessary.

CNN - Say What ?!!

I'm so excited!

My foyer and a small interview is on CNN.com in the 'Living' section called Open House.

My foyer is the second one and Emily Clark's is the first.

Let's face it, like Sharon Stone said when she won the Golden Globe for Best Actress...

"It's a miracle!"

Or, an angel named Emily Clark. She told them about my foyer.

Thanks Emily!

Speaking of Emily, have you seen her reading nook?

It's part of a Pottery Barn Kids Challenge. You can vote for her, here

You can also upload your own images @ CNN Open House.

Ducks in a Row

Happy Monday and thank goodness there are 364 days until next Father's Day!

There have been some crazy things happening around here. Hopefully, I will have more news for you soon. In the mean time, I have not abandoned my 'Project Procrastination' goal. Since I have been lacking on my procrastinated projects....I am left with finishing 10 projects in 6 months.

I did manage to paint my ducks.

I used the same treatment on them that I used on this mirror. Just like the mirror, they look like real brass.  I am going to have fun placing them all over the house.

This post would put anyone to sleep.

I'm pinning it to Project Procrastination....Finish the Unfinished.

If you want to be a pinner, email me.

Now do tell, how was Father's Day at your house?

Do You Like Acid?

Acid...neon...tomato tomahto.....do you like it? Every time I think that this is too bold, crazy or young for my taste...I see images that I love. I love Palmer Weiss and anything she does is fine by me.

What do you think? Could you? Would you?

Can't decide?

The Fancy

I'm really not sure, either. Have you used any of the neson/acid green colors in your home?

Happy Father's Day!

Boys and Cars

My twelve year old son is in desperate need of a full size bed. I have officially been the shortest one in the house for quite some time....unless you count the dog?  I am so fortunate to have men in the home  with no opinion on decorating and details. Because of this, I am feeling guilty for letting my son have a childlike room for far too long.

I was reading Pam's blog the other day, and remember the fantastic makeover she did on her son's room. I will definitely be copying her bed transformation.

Simple Details
The bed will be the easiest part of the transformation. One of the reasons I have procrastinated on his room is because he loves NASCAR!  Look, I don't know how it happened, and somehow it must be my husband's fault. No offense to all of you race car lovers....I can't understand how watching cars drive around a track 500 times is exciting? Then again, I hate all sports equally...except tennis, even though I still never figured out how the scoring goes.

Here are some of the mature boys rooms I like.

DKOR Interiors
Taylor Lombardo
Masterpiece Design Group
GRADE
Tobi Fairley

Now if I could only figure out how to incorporate this guy into it.
This is Kyle Busch, my son's favorite driver. It's a shame he isn't more attractive....hear me out...I figured since I am the one bringing in the laundry on an almost weekly daily basis, I deserve a little eye candy. Are you with me on this one? Sorry, Kyle...I'm sure you don't read my blog... so no worries.

My daughter and I like this guy.

This is Jimmie Johnson, arch rival to Kyle Busch. Putting an image of Jimmy Johnson in my son's room is like hanging a Red Sox banner on Yankee Stadium.

Maybe it could happen?

Any ideas on how I can decorate around NASCAR while keeping the room mature and not childlike?  Can you figure out a way for me to squeeze Jimmy Johnson into the room?

On the remote chance that my husband stumbled upon my blog today....sorry you accidentally found this. You are going to love your Father's day gift ;).

Binge Watching Television

Without a doubt, I am certain your weekend was far more interesting than mine. I had every intention of clearing out all sorts of areas around my home. In fact, I was certain my paper shredder would start smoking from overheating.

I had it all figured out....I would painstakingly go through all the old files my husband hoards. I would assure him that there is no possible way we would need to know which antibiotics our daughter took twelve years ago!

I would show him how we are never going to use those old cell phones because they don't even make that brand anymore.

None of this happened. Not because I did not have the never....I have plenty of that...
Because I read Taylor's post and was reminded of Downton Abbey.

Yes, brace yourselves...I was one of the three people on earth who had not seen the series. I decided to try an episode or two out.

It was definitely interesting until this guy showed up.

And then it became 'must see tv'.

After this encounter in episode 3, Mary had some real problems to deal with.

All I could think about was..."What about Mary?"

I am happy to report that I spent the entire weekend finding out. I became obsessed with these two.

Same girl, different guy....we all had a little 'Mary' in us, when we were single and dating...didn't we?

I finished Season 2, and left them like this.

I have one more season to watch, and then wait endlessly until January 2014 when Season 4 arrives.

If you have never seen it, or want to revisit it for free...this site has all the episodes

I haven't watched this much binge television since this one

Have you seen either of them? Do you binge watch?
