Garden Planning

January and February are the perfect time for me (and the rest of the world) to make ambitious gardening plans. I am far enough away form the grueling summer heat to not remember how hot and sticky it can be working outside. A poor memory and a cold winter are definitely dangerous for summer project planning.... not to mention the endless garden catalogs that continue to arrive on a weekly basis.

Since I am determined to to transform my current vegetable garden into the Kitchen Garden of my dreams

I just purchased this book, American Grown - The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden.

American Grown

I continue to be impressed by the design and beauty of this garden.

I don't think I need my lettuce this decorative, but then again....the President isn't coming over to my house.

My dog loves to be in my garden, too. In fact he loves to eat vegetables :-/

Do you have any ambitious garden plans? Any garden plans at all?

My personal favorite is her Thirsty Thursday. I think we bonded over virtual cocktails.

Procrastination Updates

Last month, I shared with you how I updated my DIY's & Featured page. As I mentioned, it was incredibly time consuming....almost as bad as installing crown molding. Well, last week my daughter had the Flu...the real one...the one that causes the entire family to go on Tamiflu. Since I was home-bound, I decided to update the Garden & My Home pages.

I think the Clorox bleach wipes made me high

I used the same program that I used for the DIY's page. The program is no longer free. It reminds me how our cable company gave us free boxes for all our tv's....it won't be long before they charge us for each box....now that we're hooked on them like caffeine

This is a sample of the page

Let's face it, garden pictures look better than DIY pictures.

The My Home page has some of the areas I have shown you, and will continue to grow over time.

I also forgot to tell you about this adorable necklace I won. It was a giveaway from the Tiptoe Butterfly
It came from World Vision. That makes it is extra special to me.

I'm counting this as my January Project Procrastination....Finish the Unfinished. I'll be pinning it to the board. Oh wow, I just noticed that some people are really getting things done and pinned.

Have you joined in? Do you want to?

Nate Berkus Fabrics

Did you know that cutie, Nate, the one we all love to love has a line of fabric? I was so happily surprised when I got the Calico email. Did anyone else happen to notice that it looks like the "corners" was dropped from Calico? Am I late on this news, too?

I think this one is my favorite

Although, it could be a tie with this one

OK, I can't decide just yet

It's the kind of collection where all the prints work with each other. You know...like Gar-animals. I really like the graphics and need to go into the store for a closer look. The prices are also reasonable. Looks like my Nate crush is going to continue for a while.

Have you seen Nate's collection in person?
