Bravo, Nantucket

Naturally, I was thrilled when Jeffrey Alan Marks of Million Dollar Decorator renovated a Nantucket home. In case you are new to my blog, I endlessly rambled about Nantucket Style for 31 days. The show led us to believe that it was furnished entirely from catalogs. If you saw the show, then you know how he slipped in an $11,000 bench.

Let's face it, there were probably several pieces that we won't find in catalogs.
And I don't care...I still loved it.

The family room

Here are some of the catalog items that Jeffrey Alan Marks listed on his FB page.

Missoni Chair - NOT CATALOG

He said it was this ottoman, but obviously it was custom upholstered.

He used this sconce and it is probably the only thing I don't love.

Do you consider retail stores that happen to have catalogs
....catalog shopping?

Schumacher Fabric Giveaway!

**Update, congratulations, Tammy!**

Day 4 of the New Year....and I'm still on track with my goals. I think this is a personal best.

I have a nice size home with more than enough storage. My problem...too much STUFF. I can't find what I want when I need it, and as Suze Orman says "Clutter costs you money". Cliff notes: how many times have you bought something, only to find out that you already had it? That black turtleneck, olive oil, upholstery tack strips (not you?), a drill bit in that size (still not you?)...you get it.

I'm cleaning it out.
Remember my fabric hoarding collection?

I managed to organize it when I built shelves in my basement

I still have too much stuff. So....It's...

Schumacher Fabric Giveaway Time!

3 1/2 yards of  "Chinese Rustic"

I used it on this Tobi Fairley inspired chair. Tobi...call me!

The fabric has several vignette's

And since the color is changing in every photo....I have swatched the background color for you

It's between BM Geranium and Red Parrot. On the orange side, not red.

You could make an array of pillows like this

Or, hold onto it for a really long time, and then offer it as a giveaway.

Let's Do It!

Project Procrastination.....Finish the Unfinished

This idea was inspired by my friend Janet @ House Four.  I was laughing so hard when I read her post The Land of Unfinished Projects. I saw myself and it wasn't pretty.

Together, she and I have decided to try and knock off an unfinished project per month. It is not our intention to include new things...that's just everyday blogging. We are after the dated, I'm so sick of looking at you, I wish I never started you....projects.

Something like this one

A latch hook kit that my daughter got at camp one summer....3 years ago. The camp was so expensive, that I figured this puppy is worth a couple hundred dollars, if you get my drift. She refuses to finish it, and I think it would make a fun pillow for the basement.

It could go with this one.

The latch hook "Fathers Day" kit I finished for her about 2 years ago. It needs to be made into a pillow.

How about this one

A needlepoint I started more than 10 years ago.

Speaking of needlepoint, I never did anything with these

The 6 needlepoint's I bought on Ebay and told you about here.

How about this

A round loom cowl that you wear in the winter

All I have to do is figure out how to get it off the loom. I should have bought one on Etsy, like this one

Available on Etsy

But wait...there's so much more. This is my hall closet. My talent-less builder obviously could not figure out how to hang a bar.

See the problem

I don't know what that yellow shadow is? The closet is white.

The hanger won't fit without it being tilted, and then your coat falls off the hangar.

Furniture? Glad you asked...I have a pair of these

Faux bamboo tables just waiting for the right color of paint.

Maybe red like these?
Etsy Seller

I also have a pair of these vintage Asian tables

I love the old mirror. They just need to be painted.

Trust me, I could go on.

Here is the plan. I started a Pinterest board titled Project Procrastination...Finish the Unfinished. I will add anyone as a pinner who wants to join. Janet is already on board.

Work at your own pace. Once you have a blog post to pin from...go ahead. I don't care what kind of blogger your are, and I don't care what type of project you have been procrastinating.
NO JUDGEMENT...only support, and hopefully a laugh or two.

My personal goal is 1 project per month.

Who's with me?

Last Day of Procrastination....for 2012

I was all ready....mentally...to tell you about my idea on how we can help each other with some of those procrastination projects. Only, I did not shoot a few pictures to help embarrass motivate myself.

In case you are not clear on what I am even talking about, let me give you two examples

This stool, that I blogged about here

It is still completely untouched!

The ducks that most of you thought should be gold
Yeah....nothing accomplished.

This isn't a "beat myself up" post. It is a "do something with it or get rid of it" post.

I'll be back on the 2nd to tell you my plan, and I hope you join me in finishing the unfinished. Here's a hint....you work at your own pace.

Happy New Year, Friends.

Thank you for reading my blog and checking in with me throughout the year. No big 2013 declarations.....let's just try to do better than the last year.

Isaac's Proposal....Video Sunday

This video recommendation came from my blogging friend, Amal @ Sybaritic Spaces. Her blog, by the way, is totally Pinterest worthy.

This was the best "happy cry" I have had in a long time.

I'm a sucker for over the top, embarrass yourself, all in the name of love gestures.
