Curb Appeal...How Do You Get It?
Curb appeal is an intangible. It is a phrase used by real estate agents and homeowners, alike. There are television shows, books, and articles telling you how to get it. When you see a beautiful home with great visual appeal, it is often hard to pick a specific element that completes the look...it just works!
I was recently sent this article that gives a break-down of some key features that will help you increase the curb appeal of your home. Here are a few of my favorite features

Fabric Giveaway!
Hi Everyone, I was so excited to finally organize all of my fabric last week. I have told you about my fabric hoarding addiction and have decided that it is time to let some of it go to a new home...maybe yours! This is the first piece I would like to give away.
It is a crisp blue and white 100% cotton fabric from Laura Ashley. It is 48" wide and 5 yards long. The stripes are railroaded (run the length of the fabric).
It could be used for so many lovely things.....

Since color on a monitor can be deceiving, the main blue is in the color range of BM Aqua Marina
The stripes can easily be matched up to form a miter

Friday's In the Garden....Didn't Happen
This week, there was no time for me to go into my garden...or anyone else's
Hi everyone, this week I was consumed with the finale of Spring Into Action. Therefore, something had to go, and sadly for me...it was gardening. HOWEVER, I could not leave you without anything to drool over for the weekend....have you met Lynzariums?
Hi everyone, this week I was consumed with the finale of Spring Into Action. Therefore, something had to go, and sadly for me...it was gardening. HOWEVER, I could not leave you without anything to drool over for the weekend....have you met Lynzariums?
Lynzariums are incredibly beautiful terrariums made by Lindsay. She sells them to some of the most exclusive stores in the Boston and San Francisco areas. Last year, when I had a big fail on making a terrarium, Lindsay encouraged me to try again. I think this weekend might be the weekend to do that. Here is what I am dreaming of for my indoor garden
OK, I love them all. I really just want to have one that is alive and wants to live with me. It is going to rain like crazy this weekend....don't forget to put Holly Tone around your evergreens. Will you be working outside this weekend?
Spring Into Action!...The Reveal
Hi Everyone, and thanks for coming back to Spring Into Action. I have been working on shelving for my basement...along with a dehumidifier. If you are new here, you can start at the beginning of this here.
A quick refresher....this is how my space started
This is how it looks now
I made a few deviations from the original plan. For one, I moved the dehumidifier in between the bookshelves
Remember the awkward cleat problem
I also re-sized all the shelves to fit the boxes....exactly (I became rather obsessed at this point)
I would say that the happy accident was finding out that I had room to fit this Ikea table top in-between the shelves
This project went up until the end for me. On Tuesday, I was painting in the garage until midnight. Late last night I was trying to take pictures for you....and the lighting in the basement is not the most desirable. I actually did not complete everything. I still need to add the molding at the top, and an additional shelf in the middle section.
I am not complaining. If it was not for this deadline, this would not be finished! I was able to organize my fabric so well, that on Monday I will be having a FABRIC GIVEAWAY!! Please come back for that.

When in Doubt...Go Up!
Last year, I decided to give my containers a bit of height...in a royal way. I picked these metal topiaries up from HomeGoods, and spray painted them a French Blue.
The structure added a support for an annual vine to climb on.
It also filled the vertical space in this corner
Of course I forgot to take an end-of-the-season shot! As the saying goes, "my garden was perfect, yesterday...wish you were here, then". What do you plant in your containers?
