Another Gardening Day!
Today is perfect! About 75 degrees. So, after a few morning appointments, I am off to the garden. Here are more inspiring pictures I found at House & Home
The Pea Gravel path is perfect
Shade Gardening can be very difficult, this is so well done
All the variations of green add so much interest
This makes me miss the U.K.
Enjoy your weekend!

This is the tall structure. I still need to find a place for the shorter one.

I placed the support in the center of my urn so that I could grow a flowering vine. It also has that pop of blue that I was looking for.

Memorial Day Gardening
I don't know about you, but Memorial Day....Weekend, for me, feels like the formal invitation to the endless possibilities of Summer...
I prefer the purple, blue and white.
Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend!
Charity Garage Sale
It's charity garage sale time! A few weeks ago, I posted about Spring Cleaning for a Cause. I have spent several days over the last two weeks, along with my friend Lisa, pricing many of the donated items......and now it is Garage Sale Time!

Saturday, May 21st Sunday, May 22nd 10am-5pm 45 Florence Street Joan's StoryJoan was delivering two boxes of Girl Scout cookies to a neighbor who lived across the street, three houses down from her house. The neighbor, a Tappan Zee high school chemistry teacher, Joseph McGowan raped and murdered her. This happened on April 19, 1973. McGowan became eligible for parole for a third time in January 2009 and was denied on December 8, 2008. Today on June 11, 2009 the parole board released its decision that McGowan's next parole eligibility will not be for 30 years, which amounts to about 18 years after deductions. This decision comes after Joan's mother Rosemarie led a continuous nine-month effort to publicize the danger to the public that the release of McGowan would cause along with a grassroots movement of concerned citizens that grew to support this effort. Over 80,000 personal signatures and 7,000 letters were collected. McGowan now has 180 days to decide if he will appeal the decision of the parole board, which he did the previous time his parole was denied. | Joan Angela Age 7 ![]() |
