Curb Appeal for the Garden Shed

My garden shed could use a little extra something. I want it to have more curb appeal.

Sorry the photo is so dark, still fighting with technology (technology is winning by a landslide!). I love the idea of a potting shed. A place to go an putter around for an afternoon. Something like this;

from Cape Cod Sheds.

Or this beauty from Sunset Magazine;

I think I am going to add a hitching post, even though I don't own a horse.

That might be just the extra charm that I have been looking for.

Hunting for Outdoor Fabric

I LOVE fabric. I could look at it, feel it, and shop for it all day long! Here is a photo of my fabric collection:

 OK, maybe it borders on an addiction?

Today, I need to focus my fabric hunting attention on outdoor fabric for my front porch. My old cushions

could use a "freshening" up. I found this great site here, and ordered some additional outdoor foam. (Hint, regular foam will mildew and does not dry fast.) I plan on using the existing foam, only adding an additional inch for extra "cush for my tush". As for the fabric, I'm thinking white? Like this

I'll keep you posted!

Shopping on-line for Outdoor Rugs

I love choices! I don't know about you, but when I am looking for something, I wan to see all the possible choices available. Today, I am looking for an outdoor rug to go on my front porch. Here are the three choices, all from Ballard Designs, that I have narrowed it down to.....

This in gray (maybe a bit dull?)

 or, this (has that "Nantucket" feel)

and finally, this (the blue would compliment my bluestone patio)

and the winner is

This rug; I can't believe the price, too good to be true. I'll post photos when it arrives. Happy on-line shopping.

Gardening in my mind

This is my first post ever!.......total silence.
The snow is finally melting and I am planning a renovation of my current vegetable/cutting garden. The raised beds are about 10 years old, and could use a face-lift. I have also decided to focus more on vegetables and less on flowers, so plenty of transplanting in the near future.

This is my inspiration for my Potager Garden - A French version of the "Kitchen Garden".

As I write this, a small family of deer are walking along my back fence. Looks like

 is going to have a busy season ahead!
