I Want to Try This

I have been working like crazy on my entry and decided to take a Pinterest break. I know you know what I am talking about. Since spring is just around the corner, I am feeling the love for fresh happy colors.

Here are three things I want to try when the spray paining weather returns.

How fun are these hangers?

This is the best idea for old silverware...just dip it in paint.

Fun colored branches...so easy, I feel stupid for pinning it.

Pinterest, could not find original source
I just noticed that the wall panel detail is almost exactly like the one I am hacking away at.

All of these, and a whole bunch more stuff is on my Crafty Ideas Pinterest board. Has Pinterest inspired you to actually do something....other than pinning?

TY's & Pintrest Boards

I am so happy it's Monday, how about you? Nothing like a ton of snow (12" to be exact) and kids housebound all weekend to make you say TGIM.

Before I get to some visually appealing stuff, I want to give a few Thank You's.

Emily Clark has always been so kind to me and the One Room Challenge. I want to thank her for mentioning it in her new series The Saturday Six.

Jennifer from Rambling Renovators also gave a shout out to the One Room Challenge as well as some other really great reads. You should check them out.

Taylor from It's The Little Things gave a sweet mention of the ORC. She is the cutest thing and blogs about what my younger inner self is thinking.

Did you know that there is a ORC Group Pinterest Board?

Speaking of Pinterest, here are a few of my most popular boars:

It's a group board with some really cool pinners contributing.

I need inspiration for a future project.

This is the year for mine.

Always good for some inspiration.

Now I need to get back to work on my entry. I'm running into some difficulties...I'll tell you all about it on Wednesday.

What does your week look like?

Outdoor Dinner Party

No, I won't be having an outdoor dinner party any time soon.....
looks like snow on Sunday. Pinterest got the better of me on this one.
I have been pinning and dreaming of warm summer nights,
good friends and good food.

What have you been pinning lately?

Pinterest Addicts..This is For You

I just found this site called Pinterest You Are Drunk. It is hilarious. Anyone can submit a pin that they think has crossed the line from good taste to good grief..... craft projects gone wrong or just too far. Here are a few that I found on that site. The titles are NOT mine.

Fake Toast. It May Not Be Practical, But At Least You Had Something To Take Your Mind Off The Voices.

Simple Centerpieces & Pinterest

This is a post about a simple centerpiece and a pin...from pinterest. This is the centerpiece. It is from My Heart's Desire.

My Heart's Desire

I cannot take credit for any of it. I liked it, and I pinned it......8 weeks ago. That's it! I have not made one like it and I did not blog about it....until now. Why am I telling you any of this? Everyday I receive approximately 6 e-mails from pinterest telling me that it has been repinned. In fact, as I write this, it has been repined 74 times! So, I thought I would find more simple centerpieces that inspire me.

Coastal Wall Clock - DIY

I have been trying to put all the finishing touches in the basement. I saved the old clock, but wanted to give it a fresh look. I found this image on Pinterest, and thought....clock!

Martha Stewart via Apartment Therapy in Pinterest

Here is my interpretation of that

Here is how I did it. Starting with the supplies

I ran a bead of hot glue along the bottom edge and applied the rope

Keeping the rope tight against the next row....keep going

When you reach the end, cut the rope on a diagonal

Tuck the end in so that it is hidden

This is a close-up of the knot

Tighten it up and apply hot glue to the back

Attach it to the front. I thought the middle was a good spot

It is a good idea to install the cleat before you decide how long your rope should be. Mark the wall with a pencil (note that the holes in the cleat are not level with each-other) for both holes

I like to use blue painters tape when I make marks....just in case. Drill holes

Tap in anchors

Remove painters tape, and attach cleat

When you have decided the best length for your clock, repeat the knot for the other side..attach...hang

I love the way it came out! Have you ever made anything you found on Pinterest? I am linking this to The Stucco Bungalow Pinterest Party. Pop on over and see what everyone did.
