Shopping in Palm Beach

I think we should all take a moment and complain about how unusually cold it is. I'll start, I am FFFFF-Freezing!! It was 7 degrees yesterday. Why is Mother Nature treating me like my parents do, and favoring someone else?

Back to my retail stalking while I was in Palm Beach. Since my brain barely functions during normal weather, I'll just post more pretty pictures for inspiration and ideas.

I hope you guys are over brass, because I am not and I really don't want any competition.

Welcome to my holiday decor for next year. This year, it's at Mecox Gardens.

I need an octagonal planter. I want this one.

I love this tropical display. It reminds me of the planter
that Albertina's husband brought home.

I loved this store. It was on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach.

I did not catch the name and since they were not nice to me, I have no guilt over it.

I am dying over this driftwood table. Every time I see driftwood, I think of Beth. She has told me in no uncertain terms that she will never warm up to driftwood. Of course that makes it my mission to convince her, otherwise.

I definitely think that this would fit into a Chinoiserie Chic room. What do you think?

Blue and White Gifts

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? I just can't believe that it is December. Since Hanukkah is almost over, half of 'my people' on my list are done! One day we can all chat about how weird it was to have Hanukkah during Thanksgiving. Since those Holiday's won't overlap again until 2070...we won't stress about it now.

I am always looking for ways to infuse more blue and white into my home. I have been drinking the blue tea, and I am hooked. I also think it is perfect for coastal, traditional and eclectic decor.

On The Patio....Not Mine

Can you believe that summer is more than half over? Well, maybe not officially but if you have kids is school sports....there isn't a lot of time before all the 'crazy' starts again.

Since it was raining yesterday, I was trying to have a relaxing view on the patio.....not mine. Here are some of my favorite outdoor rooms.

For the fixture, I chose the large

Merchant shade in unlacquered brass

. That way, she can age gracefully...wish I could say the same for moi.

I wrapped the cord with a nautical twisted rope. I bought it at a boating store, but I am sure you can find this stuff at a big hardware store.

One Room Challenge...Week Five

Hi Friends! Thanks for coming back to check in on my progress for the One Room Challenge. In case you are new to my blog, you can start the challenge here. I have so much to show you this week. If I become a little incoherent in my typing, it is because I chose working on my room over sleeping. I hope I made the right choice.
Ikea, Ikea, Ikea...what would we do without you and those names we can't pronounce? I needed a large rug for my bedroom because this one was too small

Have you priced oversized area rugs lately? Let's just say that I could buy two large televisions for that price, and I would enjoy them so much more....I smell an Ikea Hack!!

Using an upholstery needle and upholstery thread

I began to sew the rugs together. I never watch the clock, I watch television...so this was about a Bachelorette Finale and maybe an After the Final Rose worth of work.
There is only one problem

There's that hole. Feels like a rug's version of a plumbers crack.
I have a plan, words that always make my husband grab his wallet, I will attempt the rug on rug
