Circa Who? Me!

Today, we are heading home after a long weekend in Palm Beach. We went for a visit with my In-Laws. After years of coming so close but never making it.......I finally went into Cira Who
The store did not disappoint. It is floor to ceiling Palm Beach Chic goodness.
The isles are narrow which made it impossible to shoot pictures straight on.

I found out the name of the company that applies this amazing lacquer finish to the furniture and I'll post on them soon.

I'm so ready to start decorating, again. Unfortunately house hunting is going very, very slowly. For now, I'll just keep planning.

One Room Challenge..the Finale

Hello, and thanks for coming by. This is the final post for this round of the One Room Challenge. You can start at the beginning of the challenge, here.

I want to thank you for coming by each week and leaving your supportive comments. I really appreciate all of your feedback. You don't know it, but you kept me going. I tried to reply back to everyone who was not a "no-reply" blogger. If you wrote about the challenge or read anything about it, I would love it if you sent me the link. I would like to link back to all of those people.

Enough writing, let's get to the pictures.

Remember how it started?

A colorful Turkish rug (post with sources to follow)

 Love this detail.

I went shopping online at The Pink Pagoda for the blue and white ginger jars and the planter. They were delivered in less than a week.

The chandelier is up. I love the round bulbs with the rectangular glass.

The ceilings feel much taller with the simple columns and crown.

Yes, a Craigslist mirror and console table.

Mirror details.

I love the coral pagoda.

And a pop of coral on the inside.

The marble top that I was telling you about.

The paint is BM Ebony King. It is Porch & Floor paint in oil.

My favorite part, this section.

Love the rug.

The lamps after a little bit of spray paint.

The breathtaking fabric designed by Jennifer.

One more rug.

It goes really well with the San Francisco prints.

She wanted to come home with me.

He was not impressed.

I'm off to go see the others and after that I will be spending so much quality time with my kids, they will be begging me to go start another project.

Home Goals for 2013

Thanks for all of your sweet comments about my Home Goals Review of 2012. Don't worry, it wasn't a performance review.....I have job security here, and couldn't get fired if I tried.

This year I am setting my 2013 Home Goals with this in mind;

Rather than cut and paste last year's goals into next year, I have decided to sub-categorize them.

I Really Hope I Get This Done {group}

1. An All White Foyer - I plan on making this my first big project of the new year.

This inspiration picture is a good start.

2. A Potager (kitchen) Garden - I can't start this until spring, so hopefully the timing will work out.

For me, Martha is inspiration.....and just like Martha, I may hire someone to do the work.

3. Powder Room Makeover - I would like to add wainscoting and a wall treatment above it....wallpaper, stencil, I'm really not sure.

Powder Room inspiration.

The next group

If I Can Figure Out How to Squeeze This In {group}

A Pergola Over The Garage

It's a long shot, but I'm dreaming a bit on this one.

Finally

I Doubt This Will Ever Happen {group}
aka. My husband's home goal

A Home Generator. Not this kind

This kind

Since I have absolutely no interest in this, and I am the one who would do all the research on it....it is appropriately placed at the bottom of my list.

Go ahead, join me and make some goals. We need something to procrastinate against while we are pinning.

Home Goals Review....Post of Shame

Clearly, last January when I posted my 2012 Home Goals.....I was feeling quite optimistic. Needless to say, I over promised and under delivered.

Let's review, and then I will set myself up again!

1). Finish my dining room....I did that one.

You can see more of it here.

2). The All White Foyer.....BIG FAIL. I still haven't done that one. You must be sick of  hearing about it. I have devoted an entire Pinterest board to it. Pick an image...any image

White walls, colorful rug, dark banister....I want one.

3). Adding a gallery wall to my upstairs hallway.....BIG FAIL. Didn't happen, enough said. Here was the inspiration for that one.

4) Finish my master bedroom...I did that one.

You can see more of it here.

Finally #5). A Potager Garden.....BIG FAIL. I also have an entire Pinterest board for that one, too. Again, pick an image....any image. Pea gravel paths, raised beds and a white fence.

This is the current state of my vegetable garden.

Now doesn't this make you feel better about your own goals?

Tomorrow, I will state my new 2013 Home Goals. Are you setting goals for 2013?

Craigslist Frustrations!!

I am so anxious to get started on my next project....the all white foyer. If you are thinking, "haven't you started that yet?"... I hear you in my head! This is the problem....I need a demilune table. I have a beautiful shelf that hangs on the wall.

The problem is that baseboard heat. It keeps the shelf too high...and it drives me nuts! So, I want a table I can cut the back legs off, and have it at the proper height. The reason why I need to find this first, is because I am installing custom molding that will hopefully look something like this

It would be smart to have all the furniture first. That way, I can incorporate any cleats that the table would require into the design. Now for the Craigslist frustration. Seller's think it's retail.

Example....how much would you pay for this table?

image 0

It is a beautiful piece, and clearly high-end....it's $1,000. OK, I can't buy this in a store for that (It's Baker), but if I was going to spend 1K.....this is not what I would spend it on.

This one

image 2

Also $1,000. So frustrating. This one is not bad, and at $250 (it's Henredon), it is a fair price

image 1

However, it is too large for my space.

So, this is my strongest contender

image 0

It's a bit of a drive from my house (looks like my friend, Lisa is coming)...that's how Craigslist works. What do you think? Would you paint it? If so, what color?

On another note...I can't get this one out of my head. I want it in the worst way!

image 0

It is too big, and won't fit ANYWHERE in my home. I have measured so many times!! BUT, if painted white, it would feel very "Palm Beach".

White in the Garden & Bare Root Roses

Call it winter blues....call it spring planning....call it on-line shopping addiction; I just ordered 9 Iceberg Roses (bare root). Depending on where you live, the time to plant bare root roses is very soon...if not now.

If you are not familiar with bare root roses, they come like this

Don't be scared, it is not dead and if planted properly, this will become a stunner in your garden. When mine arrive, I will do a tutorial on how I plant them. In the mean time, lets look at how lovely white is in the garden.
