Coastal Christmas at One Kings Lane

I don't normally post twice in one day, but I just ran across this sale and wanted to tell you about it.

One Kings Lane is having a Coastal Christmas Sale!

This is a tiny sample of what they have....and things were selling fast. I am really in love with the lanterns. They would look amazing with garland or ornaments in them.

There are so many items and you can see all of them here.

I am really getting into the spirit this year. Maybe because it is my last white winter?

Happy Shopping!

Don't Chuck that Holiday Card

Yesterday, I was "tweeting" with Beckie, from Cubicle 57. She was asking the question, "how long do you keep your holiday cards?" Well, If you are a "potential craft project" hoarder saver, like us...as she pointed out to me....the question is really "how many years do you keep your holiday cards?" Thanks for the post inspiration, Gurl!

If at all possible, keep then out of the landfill and repurpose them into one of these many crafty ideas...

Industrial Holiday Decorating...with Whimsy

This year, I wanted to think outside the window box. So, I took a stroll down the industrial aisles of the hardware store. You know the aisles I’m talking about, the ones in the way back of the store....the ones you never go down! Carefully looking at each and every item, I found myself imagining the limitless combinations and possibilities for all this “stuff”.

Here is what I came home with

Although I could not tell you the intended use for most of this stuff….I will show you how I intend on using it...

First, spray prime all of it with this

Next, inspired by the peacock

 Here is my color pallet

After everything is primed, start painting….and have fun! Remember, there are no rules in whimsy

Shape the objects to your liking

...paint some more

Once everything is to your satisfaction, give it a quick couple of coats

Spray glitter & sealer

To assemble the industrial ornaments, pre-drill the dowel

...and sheet metal

Attach everything with screws

Then, style your window boxes

They are more "glittery" in person! Hope you have an Industrial Holiday Season!
