Do They Know it's Christmas...Video Sunday

This was a charity record that was meant to raise awareness and money for famine relief in Ethiopia.  It is impossible to find an accurate account for how much it has raised. The lyrics are a constant reminder that hunger is still and issue.

It was the mid 80's...and this was the best thing on MTV!

Here are the band members my older brother, Larry, was able to name
(in order of appearance)

Paul Young
Boy George
Phil Collins
George Michael
Simon Le Bon
Sting
Tony Hadley
Bono
Paul Weller
Martin Kemp
John Taylor
Glenn Gregory
Martyn Ware
Jon Moss
Midge Ure
Bananarama
Rick Parfitt
Jody Watley
Marilyn
Bob Geldof
Nick Rhodes
Andy Taylor
Robert "Cool" Bell
James "J.T." Taylor

How many do you recognize?

Great message Linda. Let us think of others this time of year and not just ourselves. I always loved that group video " We are the World", too. Have a great weekend.

Geez. I feel both old and nostalgic for the mid 80's (I was in HS). Always a good reminder to give what you can, times are tough for a lot of people this holiday season. Merry xmas to you and yours. xo

In a local grocery store they have a basket so you can give all year long, which I like.

I have to admit that I recognized a lot of the names but not the faces, except Boy George {that one was a giveaway though} and Sting.

I forgot to say that I have heard the windows take a year to crate for some stores and I would believe it!

Seriously?? My husband and I were freshmen in college and thought it was the coolest thing ever though we didn't know each other yet. We have the making of the song/video on DVR which is very interesting if you're a child of the eighties. As an aside, I still wonder how it is that I thought George Michael was so hot in his Faith period when I had seen his Wham videos.
