Blog Page Updates

I finally got around to updating my blog pages. I'll be honest with you, I tried to find some child labor (that lives in this house) to do it for me. I thought the pay scale was great.....the first offer was an iTunes gift card. Then I raised it to clothes I don't approve of. Finally, I was even willing to go as high as unnecessary makeup!

She was intrigued, and gave it the usual fifteen to twenty minute try....and then....as usual...something better came along.

I cannot tell a lie...it took all day to figure this out. I watched this video and stumbled along....two or three emails to the support department....more stumbaling... and viola!

If you click on my DIY page

You will see my new favorite quote along with lots of projects.

My Featured page was not difficult, just time consuming.

If you click on that link, you will see this

Speaking of featured, this one makes me laugh. This is a Russian blog that featured my coastal clock tutorial. I had no idea they did this, I just kept seeing all these weird referrals from a link that was not in English.

Another technical update that I could not figure out was authenticating my Pinterest account. Have you seen that? Pinterest wants you to verify your web address. Well, after five or six failed attempts, I noticed that Elizabeth's Pinterest account was verified. So I emailed her and she helped me. Thanks Girl!

***Update - This is the video I used to verify my Pinterest account***

Do you have any blog improvement tips that you have found helpful?

Looks great Linda! I have many things I want to do to my blog page too. I hadn't thought of using bribery to get it done, that's a trick I will have to try! Please share the deets of authenticating your Pinterest page, I too have tried countless times to no avail.

Nice job! I use child labor too but I just pay cash otherwise the negotiations get bogged down.
Can you copy me those tips for a verified Pinterest page? I had trouble too.

I'm embarrassed to say that so much of this stuff is over my head. I feel wildly successful every time I put up a simple blog post. I never even know that pinterest accounts could be or should be verified. Clearly I'm behind on this type of stuff - and it's so important!

Oh Linda, please, please, please enlighten us with how you did that project page. I have attempted it numerous times and then give up in frustration. I had to laugh at your attempts at coercing help. YOu must have a teenager. We try to get the kids to do things with some monetary payoff and they just laugh. Now that my son has a part time job it's impossible.

You are a trooper! I'm scared to make any changes to my blog as I don't wanna mess anything up. Poor Kerry had to "hold my hand" on my guest blog post at her site....my very first one! :)

Good for you for figuring it all out. It would have taken me forever to do it. It's nice to be able to see all of your accomplishments

Ha! My daughter is exactly the same. I think she figures out after 10 minutes that it could get tedious, she is finished. And whatever cash/bribe I come up with just isn't interesting enough.

Good for you that you've done all this work. Perseverance is an important quality and you have it in spades. So, when will you come to Dallas for a few days and get all of my updates in order??

Your DIY page is so fancy now! It's probably better you wound up doing it yourself it will be easier to make changes in the future. I think if my parents had bribed me like that when I was a teenager, I would have jumped at the chance but they didn't ever do that. Ever.

I have to admit that verifying my blog on Pinterest seemed tedious so I haven't done it yet. :)

This is my first time visiting your blog and I think it looks gorgeous!! I love the header, especially, and what you've recently done look great too. Heck, I would have done it for some unapproved clothes, lol.
