Friday's In the Garden.....Ferns

Hello friends! I still can't believe it's August. One more month and Fall gardening will be upon us. Look around your garden because Fall will be the time to transplant most of your perennials. For now, let's focus on Ferns. I love ferns, and if you are not familiar with them...they are perfect for shade gardens.

Ferns are also super easy to divide. Do you have any ferns in your garden?

I have just tried a grouping of ferns under a huge shady maple tree and they are not surviving! I don't have a lot of shade, so I may have to make a new plan. Have a great day Linda!

I like ferns too. They just cool me off looking at them. I had some at my house in Pa but we have all full sun here.

Oh! I just planted some two weeks ago under a shade tree ... so far so good! It must feel good to be back out in the garden for a break from the ORC!! It should be a gorgeous weekend to get some things done!!

My favorite! I have a ton, and they have been killed off by this drought. Do you think they will come back next year?

I have wood fern in the backyard which I love. I did that've holly fern in the front, but it was removed. I want to add some again. I miss it. My front yard is very shady which can be hard.

Linda, You're teaching me so much about gardens. I've never seen ferns in a garden like this before. Love them! Have a wonderful weekend!

I planted ferns and hostas for a shade garden this year. One fern is growing gang-busters, the other is barely holding on. There are so many varibles for outdoor planting. I'm willing to learn! Love your pictures!

Ferns are the only plant that lives in the large pots at our entry! They are perfect for the spot! ...and the deer leave them alone!
