Happy Sunday. I don't usually post on Sunday...I'm usually in the garage or out in the garden. However, I stumbled across Sarah Richardson giving a speech at the Women of Influence conference.....and wanted to share it with you. As some of you know, I LOVE her... In the, "I wish you were my best friend and would come over to my house and give me advice" kind of way.
I know it is long, so if you did not want to spend the time watching the entire thing, my favorite quote...."Good enough will never be good enough". Now that makes me feel better about all my craziness around my own home.
Do you have a favorite quote?

I LOVE her, too! I will take time later to watch the entire thing, since I have loved her tv shows, and her decorating style. Good enough sounds a little mediocre but sometimes it just has to do! Im not a perfectionist like the rest of my family- and I think I have more fun!

I've watched about half of it and will finish it later. I want my daughter to watch it. That bit about how other people can see things in you that you don't realize is so important. I want her to listen to us and others when we suggest things! Sarah Richardson is amazing! Thank you for sharing this!
YES, that part spoke to me, too.
Very nice speech. I loved the bit about micromanaging. I have a tendency to try to do that. I need to let go and deligate, apparently. :)
Love her.
She is one of my faves. She seems like a fun, down to earth person so I know what you mean about wanting her for a friend.
I love Sarah. Being Canadian, I've been watching her for years....since she first started in TV and have to say her shows have maintained those high standards throughout the years. LOVE, love, love her style.
I get the "good enough will never be good enough" and it often sounds like a great ideal to strive for, but have to admit it sometimes bugs me when she has something ripped out that was installed just shy of perfectly. She makes such efforts to reuse furniture, tubs etc....but then throws out perfectly good stuff that has already been installed in the name of perfection. But it's her MO, not mine. Still love her!
Thanks for posting this. I'll watch it this afternoon during nap time. I'm right there with you in the Sarah stalker/fan club. I'm obsessed with her. My husband thinks I should have a WWSD braclet (what would sarah do) lol.
