Hi Everyone! As of yesterday...it was still
raining. This week was a total washout for my own garden.
I have been planning and working on an area of my yard that has a lot of shade (less than 3 hours of sun). This is the perfect area for a shade garden. Since most shade gardens get their color from interesting plant and leaf combinations, arrangement is key. Here are some images that inspire me

As they say in all things...maybe next week! What are your favorite shade plants?

I love shade gardens with a mix of hostas and fern.
I blog often and I really thank you for your content. This great
article has really peaked my interest. I'm going to bookmark your site and keep checking for new information about once a week. I opted in for your RSS feed as well.

I need to send you some pictures of the hostas we have in our backyard. Some are bigger than my 1-year-old. I wish I could get them all to look as good as these pictures. Thanks for the inspiration!
That 5th picture...yes please! We used to have the cutest shade garden (cute because it was tiny) with lots of hostas and impatiens, but the showstopper were the ponytail ferns. Ever seen them? Really interesting and everyone who passed by our yard had to feel them. You have to bring them inside for the winter though but it was worth it.
Hi Linda,
The whole front of my house is shade until about 4pm and is a real challenge. Your images are gorgeous, as I know your yard is! Just like decorating, it's always a work in progress. We've lived here 17 years and I keep making new beds, but am never done. Now it's time to take out plants that look ill and redo a lot of areas.. but, like you, I LOVE DIRT :)
Happy Memorial Day!

Oh! Those step stone patios and patios are gorgeous. Dare I dream that mine could someday look as good as that?
I love blue hydrangeas, ivy, creeping Jenny, ferns...oh the list goes on and on...fun images! I hope you get some sun this weekend so you can get in there!
Those are such beautiful gardens! :)
