Dresser Dilemma

My bedroom nightstands need updating. I was too lazy to upload a picture, but I have a pair of Country/Colonial chest of drawers flanking my bed. They are super boring, a bit dated and I don't like them.

They look something like this
Thanks for the picture

Just like the picture above, the bottom of mine are not flush to the floor. I just don't feel like buying new ones. Do you ever get tired of spending money on "stuff"? Besides, I am trying to save for a pool. Not that long ago,  Elizabeth was rambling on about her night tables (E ~ I can't find your post)...she and I exchanged a few ideas, and here is what I am thinking

This is a $3,300. dresser....minus the mirror....can it be DIY-ed? What do you think?

That is a neat idea. I don't know if I would be brave enough to try something that complicated but if anyone can do it without it looking crappy its you. Good luck.

My sentiments exactly Kerry! If anyone can do it, Linda ... You can!!

I definitely think you can! Rub and buff silver, leather trim with nail heads, and some leather strap handles, you can do it! ( even if you tape off the drawers and paint a brown boarder around each drawers, then do nail heads...hmmm, you've got me thinking now! ) Go for it, Linda!

Yeah, I still need to get on that bedside table of mine too. I've cheated for now and just stole a table from another room. I think you could rock that dresser out for a dead on match. Go for it girl!

That looks ambitious. Beautiful, but ambitious. You can do it though!

I definitely think you could DIY it! Also, have you thought about popping off the front bottom piece on your dresser and adding your own? With how handy you are using moulding, I'm sure it would be a snap for you!

Ι think it can be done, as long as you have the sources for such hardware and the patience to accomplish that look! :)

I think if anyone can do it, it's you!

Of course you can do it!! However, I think some high gloss lacquer and awesome hardware is all you need for your existing nightstands! They'd be gorgeous.

I think you can DIY just about anything Linda! I totally agree about not wanting to buy more "stuff." Saving for a pool is definitely worth not getting more stuff! How fun for your family!

Like what everybody already mentioned, if anyone can do it, it has to be you. You are the super talented DIY queen! Looking forward to see the results!

I think you can definetly pull it off. I wonder where you can find that type of hardware though. Excited to see where you go with this :)
