Last year, I decided to give my containers a bit of height...in a royal way. I picked these metal topiaries up from HomeGoods, and spray painted them a French Blue.
The structure added a support for an annual vine to climb on.
It also filled the vertical space in this corner
Of course I forgot to take an end-of-the-season shot! As the saying goes, "my garden was perfect, yesterday...wish you were here, then". What do you plant in your containers?

Gorgeous! I am trying to stick with only red blooms. I love the trailing vine petunias, whatever they are called.
Those topiaries are really beautiful. I still can't get over how gorgeous your yard is.
We're not in the "outside" phase of the reno yet, but when we are, my husband wants only plants a flowers that serve a purpose...fruit bearing, butterfly attracting etc. We'll see.
I plant so many things that the garden stores roll out the red carpet when I arrive!! :)
Emily, your containers are the most spectacular. Do the garden centers know you by your first name?
Thanks Tiffany, good luck with only planting purposeful plants.
OH I LOVE this idea! Will have to keep my eyes open for some of those. Love your purple petunias in that container.
I switched all my pots on my deck to vegetable plants last year, and loved it, so think I'll do the same. Just planted some very PINK geraniums, though ...

Always love, love, loved a mixed planter! I think you were right to paint the trellis, and I'm sure it'll be just as fine this year when it peaks!
Can you do my containers for me?! You do such an awesome job!!
What a neat idea! Fabulous color too :) And you have a beautiful garden I might add!
Wow. Your container and yard are GORGEOUS!
What a difference some paint can make!
That paint really did make a difference. Those fixtures look gorgeous in your garden.
Such a great idea. I never would have thought to add them to planters.
I really love what you've done with those pieces. Very clever and very beautiful. And the height adds such drama to your garden. Great job!
