Bedroom Frustrations!

My master bedroom is in desperate need of make-over. I have pinned, stalked and scoured...I'm lost. I would say the problem is narrowing the project down to a color palate. I like too many, and can't commit. This time, I went across the pond and found images at House to Home.

If you were starting from almost scratch...what would you pick for you bedroom?

  2. As much as I love all those bright colors, I have to have something calming in my room. Bright colors are just too stimulating for me. I have a complex light blue. That means it sometimes reads lavender or gray depending on the light. The other colors I have are white and a khaki beige with dark mahoghany furniture, some vintage and some new.
If I absolutely had to do something different it would be a pale gray but I really love it the way it is.
It might be helpful to think about how different colors affect your mood and go from there.

  3. I like some dark colors on one of the walls that add mystery and atmosphere. And then some soft touches in some of the accessories. For example, I have painted my bedroom a dark charcoal grey and added some light pink candles and books!

  4. I love the colors in that second picture. Color choice has been my number one problem that is keeping me from moving forward on a lot of projects. I know what you mean. I like so many colors and combinations that I feel paralyzed. I just can't decide and my husband is getting soooo annoyed.

  5. I am in love with the second bedroom. It's so gorgeous! The color palette is calming yet with the subtle wallpaper design, it's still visually interesting.

I can't wait to see your bedroom makeover!

    Have a good day!

  7. I like the turquoise and pink combo - obviously the wallpaper is loud. But in a pillow or seat cushion a pop of pink with a piece of distressed turquoise painted furniture would look great. My best advise - which for some reason I didn't take on my last bedroom makeover:( is to keep your duvet cover solid. Go crazy with your pillows tho!! Looking forward to your project!

  9. I love that deep blue wall color -- would look lovely with crisp white sheets and maybe some yellow. If you're still stuck let me know if you would like me to feature your bedroom waffle on my site -- I'd be happy to feature you.

  10. I love a soothing base of light blues, beiges, whites and/or grays and then pop with the bursts of colors pinks, purples, greens etc.

  11. Hey lady,
Them's quite the inspirations! I'm in love with orange at the moment so I guess you know which one gets my vote. My rule of thumb to help with similar dilemmas: go with a color that you're loving at the moment. It's paint. You can repaint in a year or two if you grow tired of it quickly. Or go all white. I love an all white room. So calm and chic. Then add layers of color in the drapery, pillows and other accessories. Let us know what color palette you settle on! Can't wait!

  13. I always start my bedroom palette by finding a comforter or quilt I love. It always seems to be the hardest part, then everything falls into place!

  14. I would pick the first room or the one with that deep orange wall.

  15. Oh, I totally know where you are coming from! My problem was getting my husband on board with any color at all. I went with gray, yellow and navy, but now I'm fantasizing about redoing our guest bedroom in white, apple green, gold and blue. I wanted pink but I was vetoed:)

  16. All of these are fantastic! It was lovely getting to see all of the gorgeous bedrooms. I'd go with the palette in the rest of your house so that you don't break flow.

  18. Lawd girl, you are all over the place! Lots of terrific inspiration. I say buy a bed you love, some crisp white linens and have fun with the paint and accessories. Or maybe start with a rug... or the fabrics... as you can see, I am not much help either!!!!
