Silly Boys!

Last week, my friend dropped by with this little stool. She asked, "can you save her?"

Two different {male} contractors said she can't be fixed. Now you DIY-ers are already seeing all the possibilities.....me too! It would not be a good idea to try and repair the split top

It would probably split again over time. However, is that where your imagination ends.....boys? Have you seen her legs?

What about those feet?

She's Cinderella, and those are glass slippers! I will be working on her and posting the "after" in a few days. How wold you fix her? What would your plan of attack be?

  1. Neat. I would add a steel seat if I could lay my hands on one but I would probably try fixing the wood seat with much frustration first.

  2. Love the legs and feet! Kerry's idea of a steel seat would be fantastic! Or what about taking the wood and "wrapping" it in some kind of metal strapping. It might mimic what looks like metal balls under the claws!

  5. What about a tractor seat? The old metal kind. Or could you possibly cut a piece of wood to size, then cover with upholstery? A good way to add a pop of color to an area!

  10. I'm stumped. Will you make a new seat and attach it? Whatever you do, it will be so worth it, those ball and claw feet are amazing.

  12. It has potential - not sure how thick or solid the lower circular part of this is but you could add another circular wooden piece or make a round seat cushion or upholster it, perhaps?

  13. I would use my dremmel to remove some of the center and insert some biscuits then glue back together. Or you could just glue and clamp and see! Can't wait to see what you come up with... love the stool!
